Voting time
I know who I’m voting for! John Nuraney, BC Liberals I’ve never hide my appreciation for what the BC Liberals did to turn around this province from middle of the road to first (in my humble opinion). I may even look into volunteering with John just to deepen my understanding of the political process. Another alternative is to volunteer with Virgina Greene in Vancouver-Fairview. Her campaign office is just beside my work.
Plus I certainly couldn’t stand seeing the NDP regain power despite all the push that the unions are giving them. Check out this waste of union dues run by the hospital employees union called DeceiveBC. Actually I did take the time to write in about a broken promise to remind the HEU of what a disaster it was when the NDP ran the province for 10 years and nearly bankrupted our universities by imposing a tuition freeze that left them unable to cope with rising enrollment and rising costs.
Hey Craig, at one of my part time jobs, I am a member of CUPE and I see how the union propaganda has already started. There are handouts in our office about what a terrible job the Liberals have done and blah, blah blah. I find it funny to read some of them…especially since a few weeks ago, we got an email from our union head saying how the union wanted to present us with fair and unbiased information regarding the election…haha
People don’t seem to be able to connect actions and consequences. The NDP left the province in such bad shape that of course the next government would have to make tough choices to get things back on track.
Have you heard of the “Rock the Vote” program? Its put on at colleges across BC to get people to register to vote and is supposedly non-partisan. But there was this article in the Martlet a few weeks ago exposing their NDP ties: http://www.martlet.ca/archives/050324/oped1.html
I brought it up cause that deceivebc.ca website links to it.

Yeah actually before I got the that HEU site, I was looking at this one: election-2005.bc.ca run by CUPE! It’s disgusting.
Sorry since leaving UVic I’ve hardly found the time to keep up with the Marlet!! But that is a very interesting piece they published. They are actually way more respectable these days then when I first started at UVic. Too bad I can’t say the same about the UVSS or CFS!
